ABOUT ME
Born in the North East of England, currently residing in London, I am screenwriter and director.
My directorial debut 'GUARDIANS' (See dedicated page) is available on Sky Store, AppleTV+, FreeVee TV, Plex and Amazon Prime. It is represented by 101 International.
My 2nd feature as director DEAD ON THE VINE burst onto the scene with a string of accolades, inc. Best Film at indie icon Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival. It caught the eye of horror legend Brian Yuzna (Society, Re-Animator), who signed the film to his new label Dark Arts Entertainment. Dark Arts then partnered with MVD Entertainment to distribute the film on DVD and streaming across the USA and Canada. Dead on the Vine went on to sweep the awards at the BIFA-qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival in London — including Best Film, Director, Actor, and Actress — and was an official selection at the Fangoria-sponsored Dead Northern Film Festival.
My next projects are 'VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR', a horror feature in post- production with Dreamtown Films
Directed by Brad Watson (Variety - ' One to watch') and starring Bridgerton's Harriet Cains and Jojo Rabbits's Luke Brandon Field.
SHORT FILM
My most recent short film work is 'CANDLES' Starring Paterson Joseph and Shereener Browne which was recently selected for the BAFTA qualifying SOULFest at the BFI and won Best Actress for Shereener at the Real Time International Film Festival.
My comedy 'FROM MOTHER, WITH LOVE' (Dir. Gabi Wood)

My other short films have been selected for such BAFTA qualifying festivals as Raindance and the London Short Film Festival along with some great genre festivals like Tromadance, Scare-A-Con, San Francisco Comic Con and Film Freeway's highest rated festival the Austin Revolution Film Festival.
I am developing a number of feature projects including
body horror comedy LIMPET with Laura Rees,
seige thriller MIDNIGHT PHARMACY with Jed Shepherd and Anthony Neale
and hardcore slasher 'KNOCK A DOOR...RUN' with Brad Watson.
The TV series 'MISTER MAYFAIR', for which I wrote the feature length fourth episode
Shooting Paul (starring Golden Globe winner Armand Assante & Starship Troopers' Casper van Dien)
is now available on AppleTV+ (US) and Plex (UK).
My script WHIRLPOOL , which I developed with Netflix, RumJam Films and director Brad Watson placed in
the top 10% in the Academy Awards Nicholl's Fellowship Award,
Top 15% at the Austin Film Festival
Finalist at
The Manchester Film Festival,
The Richmond Screenwriting Festival,
The international Scriptwriting Contest of New York.
My feature script Heckle was produced in 2012 and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2013.
I have adapted the supernatural thriller novel The 9th Circle (Alex Bell) for Nu Image Studios/Millenium.
THEATRE
When I first moved to London it was theatre into which I fell, not film. I was struggling with my mental health ( I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 1999) and the move to London was a drastic but much needed decision to leave the North and find my place in the world.
After doing Long Good Friday writer Barrie Keefe's dramatic writing class I helped found the theatre company Joinedupwriters where, from 2004-08, we produced 55 plays at the Old Red Lion theatre, Arcola, RADA and Jermyn Street.
My plays have been performed at theatres such as The Soho Theatre, The Riverside Studios, The Kings Head, The Gatehouse, The Hen and Chickens, The Lost Theatre festival, Player-Playwrights , The Network Theatre and The Camden Fringe festival.
In 2009 I set up the award winning audio drama company Tin Can Podcast with my brother Jonathan,
writers Mike Shephard (BBC Radio 4, Have I Got News For You, Eugene Levy's Reluctant Traveller) and Mark Lindow (Untold Stories).
We produced over 100 plays and won the FRINGE REPORT AWARD for BEST AUDIO in 2011 and garnered 10000+ downloads a week.
