ABOUT ME
Born in the North East of England, currently residing in London, I am screenwriter and director.
My directorial debut 'GUARDIANS' (See dedicated page) is available on
Sky Store, AppleTV+, FreeVee TV and Amazon Prime.
It is represented by 101 International.
My second feature 'DEAD ON THE VINE' had its world and UK premiere at
Kevin Smith's Smodcastle Film Festival and the BIFA qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival respectively.
It took home awards for BEST FILM and BEST ACTOR (Tom Sawyer) at both festivals
along with BEST ENSEMBLE at Smodcastle
& BEST DIRECTOR & BEST ACTRESS (Shereener Browne) at Unrestricted View.
It has recently been acquired by Brian Yuzna (Society, Re-Animator) for distribution via his company
Dark Arts Entertainment.
My next projects are 'VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR', a horror feature in production with Dreamtown Films
and is being directed by Brad Watson (Variety - ' One to watch').
It stars Bridgerton's Harriet Cains
and Jojo Rabbits's Luke Brandon Field.
and the short film
'CANDLES'
Starring Paterson Joseph and Shereener Browne.
DOTV producer Laura Rees and I are developing a number of projects
including my feature script
LIMPET (BEST UNPRODUCED SCREENPLAY - British Horror Film Festival, Horrified Film Festival &
Lit Laughs Comedy Film Festival, Gold list - British Independent Film Festival),
THE NARROW (A canal based horror) and MUDLARK (Urban folk horror).
The TV series 'MISTER MAYFAIR', for which I wrote the feature length fourth episode
Shooting Paul (starring Golden Globe winner Armand Assante & Starship Troopers' Casper van Dien)
is now available on AppleTV+.
My script WHIRLPOOL which I developed with Netflix, RumJam Films and director Brad Watson placed in
the top 10% in the Academy Awards Nicholl's Fellowship Award,
Top 15% at the Austin Film Festival
Finalist at the Manchester Film Festival &
the International Scriptwriting Contest of New York.
My short films have been selected for such BAFTA qualifying festivals as Raindance and the London Short Film Festival.
My feature script Heckle was produced in 2012 and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2013.
I have the written feature film Suppression for Goldfinch Studios and
adapted the supernatural thriller novel The 9th Circle (Alex Bell) for Nu Image Studios/ Millenium.
Other unproduced features include Coldfell (Best Screenplay - NOLA Horror Film Festival) with RumJam Films (My Feral Heart).
When I first moved to London it was theatre into which I fell, not film.
After doing Long Good Friday writer Barrie Keefe's dramatic writing class I helped found
the theatre company Joinedupwriters where, from 2004-08, we produced 55 plays at the
Old Red Lion theatre, Arcola, RADA and Jermyn Street.
My plays have been performed at theatres such as The Soho Theatre, The Riverside Studios,
The Kings Head, The Gatehouse, The Hen and Chickens, The Lost Theatre festival,
Player-Playwrights and The Camden Fringe festival.
In 2009 I set up the award winning audio drama company Tin Can Podcast with my brother Jonathan,
writers Mike Shephard (BBC Radio 4, Have I Got News For You) and Mark Lindow (Untold Stories).
We produced over 100 plays and won the FRINGE REPORT AWARD for BEST AUDIO in 2011 and garnered
10000+ downloads a week.
