PUNCHING HORSES is a new play from me. My first in a decade. I thought I was out but the pull of theatre dragged away from film and back to the stage, if only for a few months.
The play is about two foster brothers who are on the run after the death of their mother leads to an unexpected murder.
On their way to what they hope is a new start the brothers, Tankard and Paddle, break into occupied houses to lie low. But events escalate from hilarious hijinks into violent tragedy as they fail to stay in control of their situation and more importantly their own minds.
I’m the fretter. You’re the nutter. I’m the fretter. These are our roles. Well defined. Sadly.
You’re good at yours.
David Whitney - Paddle
Jimmy Riani-Carter - Tankard
Abi McLoughlin - Doctor/Sandra/Deb/Terri
James Thompson - Todd/Policeman
